MEAD BARN COTTAGES
offer accommodation throughout the year with short breaks of
two/three nights or
more available outside of July and August (limited availability in June and
September). We offer special Christmas and New Year breaks and Romantic Retreats
with all those extra special touches: flowers, chocolates, wine,
together with four poster bed.
Special occasion or a treat? Flowers, chocolates and wine may also be added to
any other booking for £35. Just ask.
Children and pets are welcomed. We have a local pub/restaurant with a menu using a selection of seasonally sourced local produce, there are many other local pubs and restaurants just a short drive away including the Bush inn at Morenstow a 13th Century inn that offer our guests a 10% discount.
Welcombe Mouth with its cliffs, waterfall, rock pools, sand and surf is our nearest cove just half a mile away. We are very close to the South West Coastal Path and provide itineraries for local walks, mostly circular, based on Mead Barns through wooded valleys and countryside, along typical Devon lanes or along strenuous but beautiful cliff paths.
We are within easy reach of many of the best attractions in Devon and Cornwall including Instow, Clovelly, Hartland Quay,The Atlantic Shopping Village, Dartington Crystal, Rosemoor Gardens, The Milky Way, Harlequinns Leisure, Brocklands and The Big Sheep. Bude is our nearest resort with its wonderful beaches and Victorian town but other beaches are nearby at Sandymouth, Duckpool and Westward Ho! Lundy Island, Tintagel Castle, Boscastle and The Eden Project can also be visited.

We are also able to offer riding and golf locally at Westward Ho! Bude, Hartland Forest, Holsworthy and Oakhampton swimming pools are available at Hartland Forest, Penstow and Bude. Inland are old-fashioned market towns, Hatherleigh, Holsworthy and Launceston with its antiques and castle, Tamar Otter Park and Bodmin Moor.
