Great Tythe Barn is the largest of our cottages with 4 bedrooms. It went through a major refurbishment during spring 2008, where we improved the character of this beautiful old building. The old original oak beams are now revealed and the exterior repointed using traditional materials. We have received far better reactions from our guests than we could ever have hoped for from these improvement.
Great Tythe Barn is a semi-detached cottage on two floors with four bedrooms, comfortable for eight people. There are two twin bedrooms and two double bedrooms, and we will be happy to provide cots, if required. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with a four poster bed and en-suite bedroom. On the first floor there is another double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and toilet. There are two additional twin rooms on the first floor and a third family-sized bathroom.
The ground floor has a large open-plan lounge and dining with a well-equipped, fitted kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine as well as cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. The dining area has a pine farmhouse table seating eight. The living room area has four comfortable settees, Devonshire pine furniture, large 32" LCD Freeview TV, VCR, DVD and hi-fi, night storage heating and electric heating.
The living room, kitchen, one double bedroom and wet room are on the ground floor with a flat level entrance. It is partially suitable for disabled or wheelchair use as the entrance and interior ground floor doors are all full size 2" 9' doors.
Directly outside there is a garden with flower beds, grassed area and garden furniture. It is ideal for the large group or family wishing to holiday together in comfort and with excellent facilities.
The ground floor of Great Tythe Barn Cottage can also be let, outside peak season, as a superb one bedroomed cottage. Great Tythe Barn is approached directly from the drive with no steps.
